RJD Lalu Prasad favours Mamata Banerjee to lead the INDIA alliance; other opposition members respond
Mamata Banerjee said she could lead the opposition front while continuing as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. After Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and leader of the Trinamool Congress party expressed her interest in leading the opposition NDA alliance, many coalition leaders have seemingly pledged support for her. Former Union Minister for Agriculture and the Chief of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Lalu Prasad Yadav, has endorsed the idea, saying, `Mamata Banerjee must be the leader, and her appointment is imperative despite even the Congress members opposing her.`
“In my opinion, Ms Banerjee should be entrusted with the leadership of the INDIA alliance,” Lalu Yadav said.
Providing a comment on Congress’s “objection” to her, Lalu Prasad summarised, saying: “Disregarding the Congress’ opposition will not matter… she should be the one leading the INIDA alliance.”
Before the above remarks, Lalu Prasad’s son and RJD, Tejaswi Yadav, had said, “I have no objection against any senior leader of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, of which Banerjee is also a part, heading the coalition,” but emphasized that it all must be through consensus.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said in response to this week’s news that Banerjee was offering to lead the alliance: ‘That is significant why goodwill is given to her in the first place.’
The alliance known as INDIA will make collective decisions regardless of the stance taken, an emphatic statement by Priyanka, where she adds of Banerjee: “We have full faith that she has made a mark in history. She is ready to spearhead the region.” The question requires a NEW EU-KDTI Publisher operating in this geoeconomic reality, not to betarous events of a brand rivalry to direct the concepts of string literal.
So Chaturvedi’s faith in Banerjee appears most warranted, as she has stepped up to the challenge of leading her. If she steers the group, Banerjee can further progress the INDIA agenda. The difference between the two statements is marked. While Mamata Banerjee’s statement thanked the confrontation as if it held water, Chaturvedi’s statement asks for reasons.
Banerjee was on a tour only a week ago because of her exploitation. The forward orientation is not indeed concerned with “if she would lead the file.” MP’s expectation is that she would. Would they do so without Banerjee in the NDA? So, from the start, the logic is made up, and her intervention opened the floor to criticism against the role of leaders.
Banerjee emphasized the importance of managing the India front, noting that failure to do so is beyond her jurisdiction. In her conversation with News 18 Bangla, she asserted that forming a consensus is necessary while highlighting that she spearheaded the bloc formation.
Sanjay Raut, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and a high-ranking official of the reshaped party, said no one is undermining Rahul Gandhi’s status as they have supported him in every capacity.
For others, if allies like the TMC, Lalu Prasad Yadav, or Akhilesh Yadav were sceptical about the alliance of the INDIA bloc, they have to be taken into confidence. The opposition, in this case, fought together, and every new potential proposal that could strengthen the coalition was implemented. Uncle Raut made the statement while speaking to the media.
On the other hand, the NCP lawmaker Supriya Sule was quoted as saying they would not have any problems if Mamata Banerjee, the chief of TMC, took on more responsibility within the opposition grouping.
Children behave well—this was the response from Sule, a West Bengali who spoke to ANI, a national broadcaster.
On Saturday, the BJP’s general secretary in charge of the organization in North East India, Tarun Chugh, censured the INDIA alliance for being disunified and insensitive towards Congress president Rahul Gandhi. This was after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee mentioned she was ready to spearhead the opposition coalition.
