Gadkari said some people don’t want to wear helmets, and others don’t care about traffic signals. When Nitin Gadkari was first given the road ministry and road transport ministry (sic) to handle, he aimed to cut accidents by half. But he said he would rather have his face covered on Thursday when attending an international traffic accident conference. Delhi, he points out, top the table of cities, while Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the number of people killed in traffic accidents. Gadkari recalled an accident in which he and his family were involved a few years ago when he defended his position on traffic accidents during a Lok Sabha debate.
